Under the direction and guidance of the Supervisor, Operations - Water and Senior Water Operator, this position will carry out locating procedures for all underground works associated with the Town's infrastructure.

How you contribute to our organization:

Demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of Ontario Underground Infrastructure Notification Act, 201
Perform physical locates and inspections of all buried works associated with the Town's infrastructure, including water, wastewater, storm water, streetlight wiring and traffic lighting.
Produce accurate drawings for all locates executed.
Coordinate with Public Works Administrative Clerk to ensure completed locates are forwarded to requester.
Complete locates and required documentation within the timeframe allotted.
Assist with maintaining an efficient record management system pertaining to buried infrastructure (construction drawings) including collection of GPS coordinate data.
Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors and outside contractors on the technical level expected.

What you bring to the team:

Requires successful completion of high school diploma.
Requires Operator-InTraining (OIT) licence in Water Distribution.
Requires valid G class driver's licence, and ability to submit a clean driver's abstract.
Requires current First Aid/CPR certification.
2 years of experience in locating buried infrastructure or GIS is preferred.
Requires good understanding of electrical circuits and fundamentals.
Demonstrated experience in an independent work environment with little direct, daily supervision.
Demonstrated experience viewing and utility record information within ArcGIS geographical information systems

Pay Rate:
$ $33.49, plus employer paid benefits and OMERS pension plan

Hours: 40 hours per week
