Cenovus is looking for a Superintendent, Maintenance (LTCHO) to our team in Lloydminster.
Working with the Director, Maintenance & Reliability, the Superintendent, Maintenance (LTCHO) will be accountable for the safe and environmentally compliant execution of all maintenance within the asset.
This position is a key contributing member of the Lloyd Leadership Team and is accountable for all process maintenance activities (Steam/Water treatment - Deoiling/Field/Utilities), all major maintenance execution (MM) and all turnarounds (TA).

What you'll do:
- Accountable to provide direction regarding the defined maintenance strategies and plans by setting objectives, stimulating focus on plant uptime and maintenance cost per barrel
- Interface professionally with other partner groups including Production Operations, HSE, Engineering Groups, NPI, Regulatory, Construction, CSU, Finance & Accounting, Supply Chain Management etc.
- Accountable to develop annual M&R Opex Budget expenditures
- Responsible to support forecasting, accruals, budget management, reporting
- Accountable for implementing and improving upon Maintenance & Reliability program strategy
- For all new assets, accountable for ensuring that maintenance strategies & plans are developed, optimized and in place prior to ramp up, including the establishment of onsite maintenance support
- Accountable to support program work processes, standards, and procedures
- Support overall M&R Plan, such as asset criticality, maintenance strategy development, PM Development, condition monitoring, spare parts selection, and turnaround management
- Accountable to support development of the M&R program's HSE policies and procedures
- Identify safety, Environmental Health & Safety, permit and communication requirements and integrate them into M&R plan
- Accountable to develop and maintain an improvement strategy
- Responsible for providing annual strategic objectives & critical metrics
- Monitor and report on progress regularly
- Accountable to review and improve program performance using performance measures
- Conduct reviews and analysis to increase efficiency in use of services and equipment, improve equipment availability to achieve budgeted targets
- Accountable for Preventative & Predictive Maintenance (PM & PDM) program execution
- Execution of the Preventative Maintenance Program, in line with processes, providing feedback to improve PM Program accuracy & quality.
- Accountable for safe work execution on site
- Find opportunities to improve safety in work practices; participate in the incident command leadership team and regularly review the procedures for life safety, emergency response and fire safety plan
- Accountable for department's performance management process
- Conduct and / or participate in team meetings to communicate updates and relevant standard or operational changes; develop meeting architecture, including scorecards, critical metrics, challenges and successes
- Accountable for Human Resource Management
- Ensure the maintenance team is properly resourced, equipped, safety inducted and introduced to plant personnel
- Ensure effective coordination and optimal utilization of all resources including contractors and vendors
- Provide and ensure effective leadership, performance management, career development and succession planning of personnel resources
- Be responsible for and direct hiring activity, training and development and performance management across leadership team
- Accountable for the overall performance of contractorbased workforce, ensuring the appropriate qualifications, standards, practices and metrics are recognized and followed.
- Ensure maintenance competency assurance program (CAPM) is managed and adhered to address any gaps; target key performance indicators to ensure safe execution of work
- Accountable for the department's compliance to all corporate policy commitment targets, all H&S workplace safety training targets
- Respond to emergency situations as necessary and raise communication of issues and their resolution as required
Who you are:
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- A minimum of 12 or more years of proven leadership experience in a team environment
- A minimum of 12 or more years of experience in heavy industry
- Must have either a trades background in a heavy industry discipline in Engineering or Operational background combined with plant experience
- Solid experience in negotiating complex solutions from conflicting priorities
