The Company
Quest Window Systems Inc ("Quest") is a manufacturer of a window wall system designed for high-rise residential developments, based in Toronto, Ontario Canada.
Quest services clients from all over North America, including major metropolises such as New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and Toronto.
Purpose:
This position is responsible for providing timely and professional estimates to clients actively pursuing new projects and building new relationships with clients of various sizes utilizing internal systems, processes, and technology to complete accurate quotations
Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Review and interpret contract documents including drawings, specifications, and reports
- Takeoff material and product quantities from contract documents
- Solicit quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
- Assist other departments in verifying scope of work and specific conditions
- Review bid requirements thoroughly and asks followup questions on every bid
- Must have a thorough understanding of the scope for specific trades assigned
- Develop processes and ensures adequate subcontractor coverage
- Performs a comprehensive analysis and scoping of specific assigned projects
- Understands how to fit subs to the size/scope of project
- Consistently follows up with Architect and/or Construction Manager
- Prepare disciplined estimates by calculating complete project scope
- Maintain files of working documents as backup for estimate figures, including current information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc.
- Review design options and recommend different solutions based on material cost
- Track project materials consumption status and overall cost incurred vs. budget vs. POC and highlight risk and opportunities.
- Track and manage multiple estimates, working with sales partners
- Perform related, other responsibilities as required or assigned progressively based on proven abilities
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- 4year degree in civil engineering
- 3 to 5 years experience Highrise multifamily building construction
- Thorough understanding of project contracts
- Proficient understanding and reading of drawings and documents
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suite
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills displaying appreciation of alternative points of view
- Ability to truly thrive in a fastpaced and dynamic environment
