***Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.

The Legislative Library is seeking a diligent, service oriented, and collaborative individual for the full-time position of Librarian.


Reporting to the Manager, Reference Services, the Librarian will work as part of a team of dedicated professionals to provide in-depth reference and information services to Members of the Legislative Assembly, their staff, and other library patrons.


To be successful in this role, the Librarian must demonstrate initiative and excellent organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills, and be able to deliver high-quality information service under tight deadlines.


QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have:

  • Masters of Library Science or an equivalent program from an American Library Associationaccredited institution, or equivalent international degree.
