    Description

    Sessional Lecturer:
    Writing for the Stage and Screen (CRE276H1S)

    Victoria College Program:

    CRE276H1S Writing for the Stage and Screen - A creative writing course for students interested in an introduction to writing for theatre and film.

    Seminars will focus on technical issues including plot, characterization, dramatic structure, dialogue, image-based storytelling, and aspects of dramaturgy.


    Course Modality :
    In-person, Victoria College campus


    Teaching Assistant:
    There is no TA support

    PhD (preferred), MFA, or other relevant post-graduate degree

    The successful applicant will be a practising creative writer specializing in writing for the stage and/or screen with thorough knowledge of historical, literary-critical, and professional contexts related to dramatic writing.

    Evidence of excellence as a playwright/screenwriter, as demonstrated by an outstanding record of professional achievement shown via relevant publications, performances, awards, and honours
    Evidence of excellence as a teacher of creative writing at the university level, as demonstrated by previous experience and evaluations
    teaching evaluations, proposed course outline
    This position is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902, Unit 2 Collective Agreement.
