Position Summary:

Betel Home Foundation operates a 91 bed Personal Care Home in Selkirk and an 80 bed Personal Care Home in Gimli.

A laundry aide is responsible for the laundry servicing of all the Home's resident's clothing and distributing of linen.

Responsible for:

Qualifications:

Ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions.
Previous laundry experience is desirable but not necessary.
Personnel should reach full productivity following on-the-job training.
All Employees are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with the Betel Home Policy Immunizations for Betel Home Employees.

Duties:

Order, receive, and sort all linens.
Wash and dry all resident clothing in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.
Sort, iron, and fold laundry.
Deliver personal clothing to Residents.
Deliver an adequate supply of linen to the various linen rooms on both floors.
Linen room shelving will be arranged and kept in a clean and tidy manner.
Inform supervisor, or designate, when laundry supplies are required and when equipment requires repair.
All linen cart and laundry shelving will be carbolized as required.
Laundry rooms will be kept clean and tidy at all times.
Machines will be kept in continuous operation.
Do minor sewing repairs and sew on name tags.
Be familiar with and be prepared to carry out fire and other emergency procedures.
