Become a connected People & Pay Coordinator


The Coordinator, People & Pay will provide a support role by touching on several aspects of people and payroll management.

The position will contribute, among other things, to the integrity of HR data, recruitment process, new employee onboarding, data analysis & reporting, training and development and will be responsible for the payroll of all our 140 employees.

In addition, the incumbent will be called upon to advise managers on certain personnel management issues and will be the contact person to answer all employee's questions.

Finally, the Coordinator, People & Pay will participate in various projects that fall under the responsibility of the Director, People & Talent_.

Your contribution

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Human Resources

  • Carry out the processes of opening and updating employee files (physical and electronic), overseeing the data entry processes, and ensuring the protection and integrity of employee databases.
  • Lead the hiring process (background and reference checks, offers, information on employees, benefits, onboarding session)
  • Maintain and enhance current reporting deliverables while exploring new and innovative ways to report and examine HR data.
  • Be the point of contact for employees (benefits, vacation, payroll, etc.)
  • Participate in the management of disabilities, attendance and return to work.
  • Manage employee's absences (followups, disciplinary measures, etc.).
  • Participate in the organization of events.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's HR policies and relevant regulations

Payroll

  • Processing the biweekly payroll for close to 140 employees
  • Check the accuracy of payroll information and that all relevant documents are in order
  • Process other compensations or deductions (bonuses, severance pay, taxes, workers' health and safety requirements, VRSP, CCQ)

Working Conditions
The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday.

Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and manage stress.

The profile we are looking for
Experience

Specialty

  • 12 years experience in Human Resources.
  • Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems, strong ability with MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Ceridian/Bamboo HR other HRIS/Payroll systems is preferred
  • Experience in a unionized environment*Education/Certification/Designation
  • Bachelor's Degree in human resources or Industrial relations
  • Payroll certification*Competencies
  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects.
  • Comfortable with a changing, fastpaced, startup environment.
  • Familiar with payroll regulations
  • Analytical mind with good data analysis skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrate professionalism and discretion
  • Demonstrate rigor and attention to detail
  • Bilingual, spoken and written (French and English)
Technical Skills/Knowledge

  • Knowledge of HR databases and HRIS systems
  • Strong ability with MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Any experience for these above would be considered as an asset
