Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of Trading, you will use your extensive US contacts and connections to generate order flow in Canadian equities from US Broker Dealers, and train your colleagues in the nuances of the US marketplace.

Working closely with a team of traders, you will ensure the business is run in accordance with all US and CDN regulatory guidelines and requirements.

You will also be responsible for managing the associated technological requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Attract US Broker Dealer order flow into Canada;
Coordinate multijurisdictional system integration;
Provide guidance and advice regarding cross border trading and compliance issues to equity traders and supervisors;
Assist in conducting business needs analyses, providing education/training to the business unit on pertinent issues; and
Assist in identifying, implementing, amending and enhancing policies and procedures as required.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of

Proficiency with FIX, BRASS, Fidessa and Dataphile Order Management Systems.

Skill in

Verbal, written and interpersonal communication.

Ability to

Ability to work in high pressure & timecritical team environments; and
Ability to travel extensively.

Education and Experience

10+ years trading experience on an institutional or retail trading desk in the US;
Extensive US Broker Dealer contacts; and

Licenses and Certifications

Completion of CSI Traders Training Course; and

NASD Licensing

Series 7, 55, 63.
