Responsibilities:


  • Assist with environmental assessment, monitoring, and remediation projects with a high percentage of time in the field
  • Assist with environmental project planning and resource coordination efforts
  • Evaluate environmental data against relevant guidelines
  • Contribute to improving data and document management practices
  • Assist with development and implementation of environmental standards, procedures, and best practices
  • Perform related office duties, including equipment management and data entry

Qualifications:


  • Legally entitled to work in Canada for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation (e.g., work visa)
  • Available to begin work in May 2023
  • Class 5 Drivers License (there are pool trucks available at the Lloydminster office to sign out)


Education- Currently enrolled in a Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Agriculture or other relevant Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies after the work term- Attached copies of transcripts- Currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.

D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered


Skills / Competencies- Effective written and oral communication skills.- Computer competence (MS Office) are essential, particularly Excel and Powerpoint.- Exposure to mapping software such as Petrel, Accumap, ArcGIS or GeoScout is considered an asset.- Strong attitude for carrying out all work in a safe, cautious manner while following safe work practices.

- Knowledge of Alberta and Saskatchewan regulatory framework and TDG is an asset

Working Conditions- May include frequency of travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, working at site, etc.


Safety Sensitive- This may be a safety-sensitive role, and you will also be required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during required work hours.

Furthermore, you will also be required to pass the pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol assessment requirements.- Safety sensitive positions require the operation of a motor vehicle, applicants are asked to provide a recent (i.e., issued within the previous 4 weeks) original driver is abstract, for the preceding 5-year period, if offered the position.

A valid Canadian class 5 Driver's License with no restrictions (i.e., non GDL) is a requirement for this role

Relocation


Students moving for their work term may be eligible to receive a lump sum payment to assist with relocation expenses.
