We are currently hiring for the position of: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinator


DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION COORDINATOR


This role will support the execution of DEI related events and initiatives, including festival specific initiatives, and our overall approach to new and exciting deliverables developed to further enhance our approach to inclusion at TIFF during festival and year round.

There will be a number of activations and events to manage during the festival that will require a dedicated person to assist the VP of People & Culture and DEI Lead.

This role will report into the VP of People & Culture.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to:
Work with internal teams, external vendors, and partner organizations to prepare, coordinate and execute plans to deliver DEI related initiatives/events for festival and support other DEI activations when required Liaise with other stakeholders to ensure project plan timelines are being met Support DEI lead with accessibility deliverables including, accessibility steering committee, active listener coordination, quiet rooms etc. Coordinate data collection for DEI initiatives to assist with impact reporting Develop post mortem reports, presentations, or other communications as needed Assist with coordination of employee resource groups Support implementation of DEI action plans including training and development, hiring and recruitment, and other departmental specific goals Other related duties as required and assigned


JOB GRADE & SALARY OR RATE OF PAY:

  • Job Grade 1
  • $21/hour

WORK LOCATION:

Office Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5 Weekly in office requirements:
  • Minimum 2 days (November to May)
Minimum 3 days (June to October) Festival Office Requirements: Full Time during Festival


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

12 years of related experience
Some experience of project or event management


Skills may include:
Experience of delivering small or medium size events in local community setting Experience of stakeholder management The ability to problem solve and pivot to deliver outcomes Good relationship management at all levels Good communication and sound judgment skills to know when to escalate and flag issues Strong interpersonal skills to interface with TIFF staff, volunteers, and other internal and external stakeholders Values, promotes and embraces diversity, equity and inclusion principles and practice Understanding of antioppression, antiracism, diversity, equity and inclusion frameworks Ability to work and respond well in fastpaced and high pressure environments with simultaneous deadlines Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends This position requires being in office on a regular basis.
