As a Development Coordinator you will primarily focus on reporting and metrics development and coordination and administrative support for the Revenue Development Department.

The role of Development Coordinator

  • Reporting to the Chief Development Officer you'll provide general coordination and general support for the department (45+ person fundraising team).
  • You're responsible for developing and delivering reporting to support strategic priorities including:
  • Fundraising revenue reports and metric dashboards
  • Adhoc metrics as required to support strategic fundraising growth
  • Develop and manage organizational statistics and metrics inventory for the department including sourcing and calendarized updates.
  • You'll also provide coordination and administrative support for:
  • The Chief Development Officer and the Senior Director, Revenue Development for departmental special projects and their work as members of committees/working groups or as required.
  • Revenue Development training and other departmental event planning and logistics.
  • Inventory and distribution for general fundraising print materials.
  • Office systems such as ordering, invoice tracking and reconciliation, onboarding etc.
While every day is different, a day in this role might include:

  • Sourcing current shelter statistics from the animal care team for use in fundraising appeals.
  • Running the bimonthly metrics dashboard to determine the current new donor retention rate, donor longtime value and other lead and lag metrics we track.
  • Securing a location and confirming catering for an allday training session.
  • Scheduling quarterly departmental onboarding meetings for new staff.

What skills have you developed?

  • Postsecondary education plus 36 years' experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the employer) including experience:
  • Coordinating projects, including the ability to work proactively and efficiently, be well organized, set and manage competing priorities, establish procedures, external contractor liaison, meet overlapping deadlines and problem solve in an agile, innovative, fast-paced environment.
  • Metric development and reporting including gathering, calculating, reviewing data using various procedures to deduce information used to shape decision making.
  • An understanding of fundraising is an asset but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to:
  • Work collaboratively on shared projects with individual responsibilities, minimum supervision and multiple priorities.
  • Identify potential challenges and opportunities as well as bring forward solutions.
  • Gather data, calculate metrics and perform analysis.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully at all levels with a diverse audience (both oral and written).
  • Proficiency with:
  • Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills (required).
  • Databases/CRMs, including strong query building skills (required)
  • Professional demeanor, attire, and presentation.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
