    General Accountabilities:

    • Utilize financial systems to gather and compile data for various business information needs such as financial statements, variance reviews, and accounting analysis.
    • Develop and maintain financial systems, provide guidance on financial issues, and implement controls for accounts and financial support systems.
    • Establish and manage management information systems and data collection procedures.

    Specific Accountabilities:

    • Manage general accounting activities, review journal entries, and ensure accuracy of financial evaluations.
    • Coordinate setup of new general ledger accounts, changes to existing accounts, and preparation of financial reports.
    • Review financial statements, supervise staff, and support regulatory processes and special purpose reporting.
    • Conduct financial studies and ensure internal financial controls are reliable.
    • Exchange accounting information with other business staff and participate in financial procedural discussions.

    Selection Criteria

    Essential Competencies:

    • Requires knowledge of financial accounting, including IFRS and US GAAP, and experience with financial analytical techniques and computer applications.
    • Requires experience in general accounting, financial evaluations, and cost accounting.
    • Requires good judgment when analyzing and resolving financial issues, as well as effective communication skills.
    • Experience with computers, SAP, and various terminologies associated with regulatory filings is necessary.
    • Must demonstrate sound judgment and accurate analysis of financial data and reporting issues.
