Meter Commissioning Technician, Level 1 - Vaughan, Canada - Provident Energy Management Inc.

ROLE:
The Meter Commissioning Technician is responsible for a wide variety of duties, including but not limited to, the inspection, commissioning, and communications troubleshooting of all metering systems for the Company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Level 1
- Meter commissioning for all thermal, water and electrical meters that do not fall under S-EO4 used by Provident
- Assist with meter programming
- Complete all meter communication wiring including phone/ethernet, RS485, low voltage cable installation and termination
- Assemble and install metering related equipment to support operations
- Provide warehouse support including delivery of inventories to construction sites, inventory counts, packaging inventory parts, and assisting with organizing the inventory room.
- Investigate and resolve communication and clerical issues.
- Provide building status updates and other proactive communication with the site foreman or building project manager to facilitate their scheduling of other site work
- Any and all other duties as assigned to meet Company objectives.
Level 2
- All duties and responsibilities within Level
- Suite meter installation commissioning
- Electricity (all voltages), Water, Thermal
- Suite meter installation commissioning
- Meter communication troubleshooting & repair Water, Thermal and Electricity all communication types
- Customer meter (suite and commercial) investigation assistance
- Meter programming
- Water, Thermal, Electricity and Gas all types
- Track all service tickets through Device Magic
- Any and all other duties as assigned to meet Company objectives

REQUIREMENTS
Level 1
- Minimum secondary school diploma with postsecondary technical education/certification
- Fundamentals of Electrical Safety course to be completed
- Working At Heights and other mandatory health & safety courses
- A valid Ontario driver's license and reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance will be necessary for travel to sites.
- Defensive driving course
- Experience and ability to use hand tools, volt meter and basic test equipment
- Ability to perform work according to established procedures, instructions and health and safety protocols
- Minimum secondary school diploma with postsecondary technical education/certification
- Working knowledge of electrical safety guidelines and Electricity Act
- Ability to properly use PPE provided and utilize mandatory health & safety training i.e. WAH, WHMIS etc.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to communicate factual information clearly
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- All other duties as assigned to achieve Company objectives
Level 2
- All requirements in Level
- BES course completion or working towards
- Hydro One Level 1 Meter Technician training or working towards
- Completion of various courses as noted in Level 1 plus First Aid & CPR; Fundamentals of Fall Arrest; Defensive Driving
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Daily travel with own automobile to and from job sites, generally within but occasionally outside the GTA.
- Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Overtime as required.
- Lifting or moving up to 50lbs may be required.
