    Summary:

    The Health and Safety Advisor will be a key safety leader at our Mississauga Cement Plant, reporting to the Health and Safety Manager. You will play a crucial role in implementing our plant safety program "See, Stop, Do."

    What you'll be contributing:

    • Promote and adhere to all plant safety guidelines
    • Provide support for the OHS department
    • Maintain OHS, Disability, and Training records
    • Prepare OHS reports and presentations
    • Assist in developing and delivering safety training
    • Conduct inspections and audits for safety compliance
    • Participate in incident investigations and emergency response
    • Liaise with management, employees, and external OHS agencies
    • Other duties as required

    To excel in this role, you will need:

    • Ability to comprehend warning labels, instructions, and signs
    • Knowledge of OH&S Act, WSIA, and WSIB policies
    • Minimum 5 years of OHS work experience
    • Degree/diploma/certificate in OH&S preferred
    • Experience in cement or related industries
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Effective communication abilities
    • Build networks and relationships
    • Work effectively in changing environments
    • Handle complex and sensitive issues

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift up to twenty pounds
    • Periods of standing, walking, climbing, and working at heights

    Work Environment:

    • Working outdoors and indoors in varied conditions
    • Exposed to extreme heat and confined spaces
    • Mobile throughout all areas of the plant
    • Position based across the plant
