    Job Description

    Activation Worker - Temporary Full Time for 3 months, with possibility of extension


    Under the supervision of the Activation Manager, the Activation Worker plans and conducts daily activation, recreational and social programs for residents of the Long Term Care Home that reflects the organization's resident centred approach to improve and maintain the residents' quality of life.

    Qualifications

    Diploma in Recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, gerontology or equivalent
    Experience in a social services or long term care setting an asset
    Experience and skills in facilitating activation programs
    Montessori Dementia Certificate and and/or Gentle Persuasive Approach training, an asset
    Demonstrated initiative and creativity in planning and provision of programs
    Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
    Ability to work independently as well as positively contributor of a larger interdisciplinary team.
    Proficient Computer literacy.
    Current CPR Certificate
    Current Food Handler Safety Certificate
    Ability to work shift work and weekend work
    Ability to speak Chinese

    Additional Information

    This is a temporary full time position for 3 months, with possibility of extension.
