    The Opportunity

    Leavitt Machinery is recruiting for a Field Service Technician to join our team in Surrey, British Columbia. As the Field Service Technician, you will be conducting maintenance checks and diagnosing repairs for lift trucks at customer sites.

    As the Field Service Technician your key responsibilities will include:

    • Examine overall operational integrity and condition of trucks
    • Find defective mechanical or electrical parts; communicate and execute next steps for repair solutions to customers
    • Diagnose and order parts according to technical manuals
    • Document and analyze breakdowns based on standard procedures

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician or equivalent experience
    • Automotive Certification (310S) or Heavy Duty Technician Certification (421A) an asset
    • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems of battery and engine powered material handling equipment
    • Knowledge of hand tools and measuring devices, and the use of electrical/electronic diagnostic
    • Experience with industrial equipment that involves lifting / rigging, maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial mechanical service equipment
    • Experience aligning above equipment, using dial indicators/calipers, micrometers, hoists or jacks is a plus
    • Ability to interpret and implement technical procedures
    • Solid knowledge of general Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Customer service oriented
    • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced and changing environment
    • Valid driver's license required

    The base pay range for this role is: $50.53 per hour for a certified Red Seal Technician.
