    The Technology and Innovation (T&I) Ministry supports Government of Alberta (GoA) departments with information management and technology (IMT) leadership and expertise in IMT services delivery, security, and corporate investment management that enable the GoA to meet business goals and objectives.

    The T&I Ministry uses a one-government approach to IMT governance, decision-making and service delivery across the Government of Alberta (GoA) balanced with individual client needs. The Privacy, Policy and Governance Branch enables government transparency and accountability by delivering enterprise policy and program services for content management (which includes data, information and records), privacy, technology and access to information.

    Role Responsibilities

    As the Senior Policy Analyst, you are responsible for policy and program planning work associated with the review, evaluation and/or implementation of content management (CM) policy instruments (e.g., Strategies, Standards); CM policy instruments encompass data, information and records. All work is conducted with the goal of ensuring that the interests and priorities of the department and the Government of Alberta are effectively represented in initiatives, projects, and activities so that government data and content is managed as a strategic resource. You will liaise with key stakeholders and may represent the ministry on interdepartmental work teams and external committees.

    Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Carrying out policy and planning projects for the management of government data and content, with minimal supervision;
  • Reviewing, evaluating, and interpreting CM policy instruments within the framework of the CM Strategy and the department's business plan objectives;
  • Identifying, evaluating, and describing complex and sensitive issues that impact the management of government data and content, including technical, behavioural, and environmental factors that contribute to these issues;
  • Assisting with the implementation of new policy and/or process through consultation and advice;
  • Coordinating and conducting background research (including obtaining stakeholder input) and integrating research into final reports/recommendations; and
  • Maintaining open and collaborative communication channels within the team.
