The Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association is seeking a talented
Medical Administrative Assistant for our midsized medical practice.


Are you an Administrative Assistant with three to five years of experience? Do you have experience in a healthcare setting? Do you work well with both physicians and staff? Do you have a passion for quality and can you juggle multiple priorities to support physicians.

If so, this might be the right role for you.

***: The position provides administrative support to physicians. The Administrative assistant will be responsible for the clinical and administrative services associated with the operation of the General Internal Medicine clinic.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responsibilities include; but are not limited to:_
  • Managing and maintaining physician clinic schedules
  • Coordinating appointments with other departments and clinics
  • Electronic filing and chart organization
  • Managing all patient bookings; inquiries and scheduling appropriate tests
  • Coordinating with OHIP to correct errors and obtain version codes
  • Ordering and maintaining office supplies
  • General administrative support to physicians
  • Answering calls to SCOPE from outside physicians

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Demonstrated advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in medical administrative assistant role. Hospital experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and act independently using sound judgment as well as accepting direction
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills and good team player skills
  • Excellent time management skills; attention to detail; the capacity to prioritize by assessing situations to determine urgency
  • Ability to work independently and balance multiple work demands, including time sensitive requests
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate to and work well with a diverse group of individuals including patients suffering mental health illness
  • Tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues
  • Desire and ability to take on new and added responsibilities
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Proven knowledge of medical terminology
  • Demonstrated experience working in a highvolume, fastpaced clinic
