Victoria Village is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Food Service Supervisor.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Supervises the preparation and service of all meals and nourishments following specified menus and standardized recipes;
Monitors and documents resident nutritional status on an ongoing basis with referral to the Consulting Dietitian if health status changes negatively;
Refers residents or family members as necessary to Consulting Dietitian for counseling on therapeutic diets;
Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team in the development and evaluation of resident care plans;
Maintains operational records (ie: menus, production charts, food temperatures and refrigerator, freezer and dish machine temperatures) as directed;
Attends all pertinent facility inservices, community educational sessions and other necessary training sessions as provided;
Maintains required records, reports, statistics, preventative maintenance logs, equipment service logs, and repair request books etc., in accordance with policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
Any other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Must possess certification as Food Service Supervisor/Nutrition Manager from a recognized governing body;
Must possess current membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management;
Minimum of 1 year experience in large quantity food preparation, financial planning and food purchasing;
Supervisory experience in a unionized environment and/or in a long term care setting;
Eligible for membership in the Ontario Society of Nutrition Management;
Must be knowledgeable of the nutritional needs of the residents in a LTC home;
Must be able to work and communicate effectively with residents of a LTC home;
Must be an effective team player who works well with others;
Must be knowledgeable of the Ontario Food Premises Regulation, Food Safety Code of Practice and Canada's Food Guide to Health Eating, ORCA, relevant sections of the Long Term Care Homes Act and regulations 2007 and OH&S Act;
Computer skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook;
Knowledge of Point Click Care as asset;
Two original doses of the COVID19 vaccine.
