Recent examples of transaction types are buy-side and sell-side debt advisory, stressed refinancing, complex corporate carveouts, large construction and infrastructure deals and technology/growth capital raises.

Our Toronto office is looking for an Experienced Associate, in the Capital Advisory practice to join the team and own the following responsibilities:

Participate in a range of advisory capital raising assignments concurrently assuming responsibility for the day-to-day execution and delivery of service on projects.

Conduct market and industry research, detailed financial analysis and business valuations.
Identify relevant business, market and other commercial risks faced by the customer.

Using results of analysis and sound judgment, make recommendations to approve or decline transactions based on credit quality, business risk and market needs.

Specific debt advisory transaction related activities will include supporting senior colleagues, in the practice with: i) handling the new internal transaction/client "take on" process ii) review and analysis of new transaction material and due diligence reports iii) preparation of, and working with, financing models (including covenant analysis) iv) preparation of 'teasers' and information documents for prospective lenders v) negotiating NDAs with prospective lenders vi) coordinating Q&A and management presentations with lenders vii) assist with term sheet preparation and negotiations and viii) assist with loan documentation and closing negotiations.

Operate in a regulated environment and adhere to all regulatory and compliance requirements.
Ensure quality of client deliverables by having a strong attention to detail.

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or related.

Excellent financial modelling skills in Excel with a good foundation of building (and working with) operational and/or finance models, including analyzing business forecasts, evaluating scenario analysis and covenant calculations.

Information memorandum, Financial and Commercial Due Diligence).

A strong appreciation of debt market trends and financing instruments (such as senior debt, asset backed loans, cash flow loans and mezzanine debt) and their key features, with the ability to explain these in a clear and concise manner.

Strong analytical and credit analysis skills.
Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills that help represent diverse communities.
