The Behavioural Consultant develops, implements, and maintains behavioural intervention strategies and plans for clients and provides training to caregivers to facilitate successful living in the community.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Uses positive behavioural supports and interventions to determine appropriate behaviour management methods, based upon a child/youth's needs and consideration of their best interests. Monitors clients needs in conjunction with caregivers and/or other service providers.
- Provides consultation on residential care needs of youth to other team members to support youth's transition into care, stabilization, and transition out of the resource.
- Develops, implements, and maintains individual behavioural intervention strategies and programs to allow clients to participate in community life more fully and actively. Applies psychological theories and principles and behavioural analysis techniques regarding behaviour and mental processes with participants who include children/youth's experiencing mental health and/or substance use issues, physical health issues, developmental disabilities and dual diagnoses, neurological disorders, complex trauma, and severe behavioural issues.
- Identifies crisis situations and implements interventions to deal with such episodes. Mitigating any barriers or challenges where appropriate (e.g., develop a safety plan for children or youth that display highrisk behaviours).

Qualifications:
- Master's degree in counselling psychology or a related field.
- Two (2) years recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Successful completion of Agency screening process, including criminal record check
This position requires union membership
Hours:35 hours per week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 3:00pm-11:00pm, Friday & Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm
Rate of Pay:
$41.78 per hour plus cost shared benefits.
