    The role of Senior Manager, Tangerine Internal Controls is crucial to the success of the Tangerine Internal Controls Unit, ensuring alignment with the team's business strategies and objectives. Compliance with regulations, internal policies, and alignment with Scotiabank Canadian Banking Internal Controls team are paramount.

    The Senior Manager collaborates closely with Tangerine Risk Owners, Business Controls teams, and Control & Support Functions to drive risk and compliance activities, supporting the Non-Financial Risk Program mandate. Additionally, the incumbent plays a key role in nurturing a robust risk culture and effective control environment within Tangerine.

    Is This Role Right for You? In this role, you will:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with Tangerine Risk Owners, serving as the primary liaison between Risk Owners and the Second Line of Defence / Control & Support Functions.
    • Oversee Operational Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) and Compliance Risk & Control Assessments (CRCA) to aid Risk Owners in identifying, documenting, and evaluating risk issues and key controls
    • Lead regulatory compliance processes, handling tasks such as related party validation and privacy incident management
    • Provide input on Risk Owners' initiatives, working with the New Initiative Risk Assessment (NIRA) team to design risk controls and address key risk issues
    • Manage business unit regulatory control libraries and identify regulatory controls proactively
    • Assist Risk Owners in defining risk appetites and developing Risk Appetite Statements
    • Generate periodic Non-Financial risk reports, offering data-driven insights to support Risk Owners in monitoring and mitigating risks
    • Handle Issues Management including root cause analysis and action planning
    • Support risk and compliance activities, including regulatory change initiatives within Tangerine
    • Collaborate on the annual Tangerine Non-Financial Risk strategy and plan
    • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance risk and compliance processes
    • Stay updated on regulatory requirements, emerging risks, and industry best practices
    • Promote a customer-focused culture and adhere to risk management frameworks and guidelines

    Do you possess the skills needed for success in this role? We'd love to collaborate with you if you have:

    • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related discipline; MBA preferred
    • 5+ years of experience in Non-Financial Risk Management or audit function in financial services
    • Solid understanding of regulatory compliance and operational risks in banking
    • Familiarity with retail banking products and processes
    • Experience in identifying and assessing risk and controls
    • Proficiency in OSFI E-13 and E-21
    • Skills in reporting, data analytics, and process mapping
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Proven leadership and time-management abilities
    • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
    • Expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Visio
