POSITION BACKGROUND:


The Site Supervisor is responsible for client relations and the completion/delegation of all tasks assigned by Site Superintendent or Project Manager.

This position contributes to Ketek Group's reputation for safe and timely project execution and is vital to the long-term growth of the company.


CORE DUTIES:


Project / Field

  • Establish and promote excellent relationships through clear and accurate communication
  • Lead projects onsite, supervise subcontractors, and interact with the clients' representatives
  • Adhere to contract specifications and notify the client and/or head office when changes to the contract, scope of the project, or schedule are imminent
  • Ensure the safety of the workers and ensure workers have the proper training to complete tasks
  • Handle employee relations while onsite
  • Manage, guide, mentor, and motivate Employees toward accomplishment of project goals
  • Identify training needs and oversee development potential of site personnel
  • Take instructions from the Project Manager and/or act to ensure projects are completed in a safe manner, on time, and on budget
  • Be an active stakeholder in the planning process prior to project execution
  • Supervise the mobilization, monitoring, troubleshooting and demobilization of: well pumps, diesel pumps, and electric submersible pumps
  • Direct the routine maintenance and servicing of equipment in the field
  • Maintain, repair, install, and service: generators, light towers, and heating equipment
  • Operate field trucks, loaders and skid steers in a safe manner
  • Take instruction from the Site Supervisor to ensure projects are completed in a safe manner, on time, and on budget
  • Act as site or project leader in the absence of the Site Superintendent, assigning daily tasks to the Site Foreman, Field Labourers and Pumping Technicians
  • Assist with the routine maintenance and servicing of equipment in the field
  • Perform routine onsite housekeeping duties

Shop Operations

  • Receive, understand and execute instructions from Shop Foreman
  • Clean equipment and tools
  • Disassemble equipment, if needed, to thoroughly clean
  • Identify faulty/damaged equipment and/or defective materials and inform supervisor of problem
  • Determine the correct type of tools/equipment to be used for a specific task
  • Complete assigned tasks in a safe, efficient and timely manner
  • Perform routine housekeeping duties in the shop

Other Duties

  • Complete all required paperwork on a daily basis, including hazard assessment and Daily Job Control Sheet
  • Assist with performance evaluations and Employee discipline
  • Cooperate with Training department for scheduling of new/recertification training
  • Observe all safety procedures and use proper Personal Protective Equipment

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:


Required

  • Minimum 3 years of oilfield and/or construction experience
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and clean driver's abstract
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Fluent in the English language (reading, written, spoken)
  • Experience working with basic hand tools
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and frequent demanding deadlines
  • Ability to handle changing schedules and priorities, with high level prioritization skills
  • Effective verbal and listening communication skills

Preferred

  • Minimum 2 years of Ketek experience
  • Experience supervising crews
  • Experience towing a trailer
  • Experience on oilfield or oilsands sites
  • Experience operating a wheel loader and/or skid steer
  • Experience in dewatering, welltesting, or water transfer
This position is defined as

Safety Sensitive:
Drug, Alcohol, Back, and Audio tests are required prior to commencing employment.


WORKING CONDITIONS:


Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand/sit, talk/hear, stoop, climb, lift, balance, kneel and use of hands/fingers to operate tools, machinery and materials
  • Moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50lbs) may be required
  • Use of mechanical aids: overhead crane, forklift, pallet jack, and dolly may be required
  • Exposure to sharp edges, pinch points, trip and slip hazards, and blind spots

Work Environment

  • Field environment (90%) and shop environment (10%)
  • Required to work weekends and outside of regular office hours
  • Required to work outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and heat
  • Required to work away from home for extended periods of time
