What you will do:


As the Wellness Communications Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting communication efforts within the Student Wellness and Equitable Learning (SWEL) department at Humber College.

Working under the guidance of the Director of Operations, SWEL, and collaborating closely with fellow Managers and Directors within SWEL, your responsibilities encompass a wide range of communication initiatives.

Digital Media Strategy:


  • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital media plan aligned with SWEL's marketing and communication strategies.
  • Advise on best practices to optimize digital communication initiatives for maximum impact.

Content Creation:


  • Generate compelling content for print, digital, and social media platforms for both SWEL departments.
  • Showcase your proficiency in writing, marketing, and graphic design through the creation of annual reports and other editorial pieces.

Collaboration:


  • Work closely with the Office of Communications under Student Success and Engagement (SSE) to ensure effective communication alignment.
  • Collaborate with various departmental staff supporting communication projects in both SWEL departments.

Web Presence and Engagement:


  • Redesign and maintain the web presence of SWEL, optimizing it for student outreach and engagement.
  • Cultivate avenues for student engagement, fostering a sense of community within SWEL.

Stakeholder Relationships:


  • Build and strengthen relationships with strategic stakeholders and partners, enhancing the impact of SWEL's communication efforts.

Social Media Expertise:


  • Provide insights on current social media trends and platforms, leveraging them to enhance digital communication strategies.

Campaign Support:


  • Play an integral role in promoting wellness campaigns, including flu clinics, health screening awareness, and diversity and equity engagement initiatives.

Monitoring and Tracking:


  • Keep track of outreach activities, monitoring their effectiveness and making datadriven adjustments as necessary.

What you bring to the role

Education
Master's degree in communications or an acceptable combination of equivalent experience.


Experience

  • Minimum four years coordinating marketing and communications operations and content strategy.
  • Previous experience in communications, marketing, or related fields.

Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of, and experience with Photoshop/Creative Cloud/Illustrator; Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; social media;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Effective problemsolving ability.
  • Strong attention to detail including solid analytical and investigative skills are critical. Strong organizational and planning skills; ability to successfully implement multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong customer service orientation is crucial.
  • Strong writing, graphic design, and digital media skills.
  • Familiarity with current social media trends and best practices.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Detailoriented with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
