Champlain College Lennoxville is seeking the services of a COMMUNICATION COUNSELLOR to work on a temporary, full-time basis, until December 20, 2024, in the office of the Director of Constituent College with the possibility of extension.


FUNCTIONS

  • Reporting to the Director of Constituent College, the incumbent will create highquality, strategic, and engaging content to support the communication objectives of the College. Through a variety of communication means including the College's website, social media accounts, internal communications platforms, newsletters, printed recruitment materials, and branded promotional items, the incumbent will fulfill an important role serving as the staff contact for college communications internally and externally.
  • The incumbent will also be instrumental in leading the organization of recruitment and promotional events for the College, and in contributing to the maintenance and development of relationships with alumni, former employees, the local community, and a wide range of College stakeholders.
  • SPECIFIC DUTIES
  • Internal and external communications
  • In collaboration with the Director's Office team, develops and deploys a communication strategy in support of the student and employee experience that is aligned with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the College.
  • Ensures visibility for the College in the external communities through sustained outreach and messaging by updating and maintaining various communication channels, including social media and the website, and producing editorial and advertising materials for distribution.
  • Oversees revisions, updates and modifications to the College website structure and content.
  • Undertakes the updating and production of promotional documentation reflecting academic programs, services, and the Champlain College Lennoxville community.
  • Edits and revises communications materials developed by staff when intended for external audiences.


Organization and Support of Events- Coordinates logistics for promotional and visibility-related events such as open houses, press conferences, fundraising events and lend support to other departments for important activities and events such as new student orientation and graduation ceremonies.


  • Supports student recruitment efforts.
Media and public relations- Manages media relations and develop contacts.

  • Maintains and develops alumni relationships with former students and employees.
  • Maintains and develops our relationships with donors and partners and deploy recognition program for contributions.
  • Develops key messages, talking points, and press releases for various audiences and stakeholders to support the College media outreach.
  • If necessary, performs any other related task.

Requirements:

Education
Hold an undergraduate university degree in communication or an appropriate field of specialization.

Other
Excellent communication skills in English and French, both oral and written;
Strong writer and graphic designer with proven ability to quickly and consistently produce compelling materials for defined audiences and in response to established communication objectives;
Have a strong political sense and demonstrated capacity for nuanced communications;
Experience in event logistics and ability to initiate and sustain collaboration;
Superior level of attention to detail to ensure all work is produced to the highest standard;
Creative and strategic mindset;

Technological savvy:
up-to-date with digital trends and developments, social media analytics, social listening, and mobile marketing.
Proven experience in social media, communications software and web platforms management;

Strong ability to prioritize, plan, organize and execute tasks and responsibilities with a diversity of demands and under in tight timelines.

Salary Scale:
$47,886 to $79,426
