_Ray of Hope is looking for an Employment Services Coordinator to join our team_

Overview:


Utilizing your relationship skills and knowledge of employment services, the Employment Services Coordinator will take the lead in overseeing the daily operations of the Employment Services Program.

The Employment Services Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Employment Coaches to ensure positive performance, continuous improvement and compliance with the Employment Services programs, policies, and procedures.


Specific Responsibilities:


  • Supervise the Employment Coaches to ensure program objectives and trainees needs are being met.
  • Provide case management services by developing and implementing outcomebased service plans for the trainees on their caseload. This includes recruitment, screening, interviewing, onboarding, training, and overseeing work placements
  • Evaluate trainees' skills, abilities, interests, and readiness as they relate to obtaining and retaining employment while also identifying barriers to employment
  • Assess and determine the interests, aptitudes, and abilities of participants with appropriate job matching
  • Provide career development and counselling to clients and offer additional support and coaching to ensure longterm employment success
  • Assist trainees in obtaining work placements and act a liaison with external employers
  • Perform regular placement monitoring visits occur at the workplace during phases 2 and 3. This checkin is required at a minimum of once per week for trainees
  • Deliver employment modules for training programs as needed
  • Meet 1on1 with participants to provide support and resources on regular basis
  • Perform ongoing evaluation and development of curriculum
  • Ensure professional standards are maintained in a timely fashion with respect to documentation
  • Gather and submit monthly activity & performance reports and evaluations
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and make program purchases as needed
  • Attend all mandatory staff meetings and professional development/training certifications
  • Attend job development networking opportunities, community outreach, and/or any other duties that support the effective delivery of services
  • Enforce health and safety and policy compliance

Qualifications:


Education:


  • A postsecondary degree, or diploma in leadership or business/management, preferred.
  • Minimum five years combined progressive strategic leadership and experience in the field of Employment Services.

Experience:


  • Understanding of careers and occupations, various job requirements, job search techniques, career planning/counselling, and vocational rehabilitation
  • Experience in coaching or career development
  • Experience motivating and empowering others through coaching and feedback
  • Experience in working with communities of diverse backgrounds and vulnerable populations

Certifications:


  • First Aid/CPR
  • Crisis Intervention
  • ASIST training an asset (willing to train)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities to be successful in this position:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and self-management skills are required to work effectively with trainees, employers, co-workers, and management
  • Demonstrated competency in program / project / course coordination, facilitation and supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of individuals which may include, but is not limited to young adults, atrisk youth, persons with disabilities, and persons with mental health and/or addiction issues
  • Demonstrated competency and skill working with clients through a process that supports their journey toward actualizing meaningful employment from assessment to intervention to evaluation
  • Understanding of the principles of adult education and experience working with individuals who face complex employment and training barriers
  • Thorough knowledge of communitybased networks and social service agencies
  • Remaining current on Waterloo Region employment resources, labour market trends and the most effective job search strategies including effective cover letter and resume designs
