"General Accountability:
- Reporting to the Supervisor
- Warranty, the incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of administrative duties relating to the identification, collection and processing of warranty parts and claims ensuring TTC submits and obtains full compensation for new vehicle (buses, Wheel-Trans vehicles, streetcars, nonrevenue vehicles) other component warranty claims and latent defect retrofits and other component warranty claims and latent defect retrofits
Key Job Functions:
- Reviewing contract clauses for warranty coverage and the associated procedures for processing claims; completing and submitting warranty claim forms to the manufacturer.
- Assisting the Engineering Technologists in the section with projects, latent defects, warranty material, etc. by providing detailed information relating to warranty claims.
- Setting up and maintaining various databases for the tracking/reporting of warranty claims to completion and associated information (e.g., receipt of payments).
- Liaising with personnel in the Surface Operations garages, carhouses and shops as well as with personnel in other TTC Departments regarding parts warranty coverage, repair orders, claim payments, etc. and liaising with and or/participating in meetings with new vehicle manufacturers or original equipment manufacturers for warranty related issues.
- Responsible for treating passengers and/or employees with respect and dignity and ensuring the needs of passengers or employees with disabilities are accommodated and/or addressed (if applicable and within the area of responsibility), in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders so that they can fully benefit from the TTC as a serviceprovider and an employer.

Education and Experience:
- Completion of a college diploma or university degree in a related discipline or combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of concepts and practices of warranty claim management.
- Demonstrated ability to generally identify automotive parts and utilize resources such as manuals, CDs, etc.
- Detail oriented; welldeveloped interpersonal skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize several work assignments simultaneously and meet critical time requirements, working independently and with mínimal supervision.
- Knowledge of surface transit vehicle systems and components and their function as well as garage, carhouse and shop procedures and terminology.
- Must have or quickly acquire knowledge of departmental, Group, and corporate policies, procedures, standards and practices, etc., applicable to the work.
- Must have or quickly acquire working knowledge of TTC computer mainframe systems such as IFS/VWO, MMS and other databases utilized by the section.
- Familiarity with Materials and Procurement Department shipping procedures.
- Knowledge of Cummins Rapidserve and Cummins Quick Serve Online QSOL is an asset.
- Possession of a valid Truck & Coach certification (310T), Automotive Service Technician certification (310S) and CZ license is an asset.
- Possession of a Class "G" Driver's license for the Province of Ontario and access to a vehicle is an asset.
If you do not hold a designated position, you will be required to pass a drug test as part of the certification process.
The TTC's policy prohibits relatives of current TTC employees from being hired, assigned, transferred or promoted into positions, where there is a conflict of interest due to a relationship.
