- Assist the Program Director in ensuring that program curriculum aligns with CityU Academic Model and focuses on application and current practice.
- Assist in ensuring alignment of the program with CACREP accreditation standards.
- May be asked to engage in formal and informal academic and institutional governance by serving on councils and committees.
- Participate in and promote professional communities in area(s) of expertise.
- A doctoral degree in Counseling Education and Supervision (doctoral candidate level is considered). Degrees earned from CACREP-accredited programs preferred.
- Expertise in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Professional School Counseling, and Addictions Counseling.
- Minimum of two years of experience teaching in both in-class and online modes of educational delivery.
- Ability to address academic-related issues and concerns to support retention and student success.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to relate to and communicate with diverse students, faculty, staff, and external communities.
- Ability to present a professional image on behalf of the academic school and CityU as appropriate.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and learning management systems in support of quality teaching and learning.
- A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in both classroom and clinical settings.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions of the hands or wrists.

Our Counselor Education department is looking for a full-time teaching faculty member to join its current faculty team. Our Masters of Arts in Counseling (MAC) classes are offered on Saturdays from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm at our Seattle campus or online (for Clinical Mental Health).
*Note: CityU Counselor Education is a hybrid program in greater Seattle. In-person instruction will re-commence depending on safe environmental factors. There is also a digital delivery modality.

Program Description:
The Counselor Education (CE) department has CACREP-accredited master's level counseling tracks in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling, and Professional School Counselling. The department recently underwent reaccreditation by CACREP (results expected in early The Clinical Mental Health track offers hybrid and digital/online teaching, while the Professional School Counseling track is provided through hybrid instruction. The Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling track is not accepting new students and will be phased out over the next year.
Job Summary:
Full-time teaching faculty report to a Program Director and are primarily responsible for maintaining a full-time teaching load of 8 courses per year . Faculty at City University of Seattle have three key responsibilities: striving for excellence in teaching and learning, fostering student development, and maintaining currency in their profession. Additional opportunities may include program design, assessment, technology integrations, curriculum development, and representing the department in various university-wide committees and service and outreach.
