Job Description:


Reporting to the Business Manager, the Facilities Cleaner will ensure the centre is cleaned to Health Department standards to provide a hygienic living environment.

This position is covered by Ontario Public Service Employees Union and its Local 213.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, scrub garbage collection and disposal.
  • Clean and disinfect washroom and fixtures.
  • Use machine to clean floors in the corridors and the main kitchen.
  • Care and maintenance of equipment.
  • Collect and sort recyclable material.
  • Collect and prepare biohazardous waste for disposal.
  • Assist with facility and room set up, take down and disinfecting.
  • Supporting other Housekeeping Staff

Qualifications:


  • Minimum High School Graduate
  • Two years' custodial/janitorial experience preferred.
  • Experience in a secure residential setting would be considered an asset.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job.
  • Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment and safety.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
**Kinark Child and Family Services conditions of employment include but are not limited to successful Criminal Record Check or Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (based on position), completed Pre-Employment Medical certificate, and proof of full vaccination against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination for each vaccine dose received is required.
