Employee Development Specialist

The Opportunity:

As an Employee Development Specialist, you will have the opportunity to play an integral role in a team that drives collaborative, impactful, and sustainable learning and development solutions, using a coordinated systems approach to foster commitment to our corporate mission.

This takes place by assisting ongoing development through the identification of organizational and role specific competency and training needs, creating a zoned analysis followed by design and delivery of programs that enhance the overall capabilities of employees and contribute to business success for Canadian Natural.

Your expertise will include contributions within the categories of Instructional Design, E-learning Development and Management, Program Development & Support, Learning Partners & Resources, and Capability Development Tools & Resources.

Key Accountabilities:

Collaborate with field leaders to align learning and development programs and content with identified competencies
Proficiency in eLearning, indepth knowledge of various learning management systems and project management
Project scoping, curriculum and content development
Focus on mental health of employees in the workplace
Strategic balance in use of synchronous and asynchronous delivery
Leadership development program delivery

Other Details:

Job location: Calgary, Alberta
Shift schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off (Monday to Friday)
This position may require some business travel based on business needs

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant discipline
Experience in use of adult learning principles for content development
Demonstrated strength in:
Strategic consulting with internal customers
Adult education model
Instructional design
Training program administration
Delivery of instructional content both virtually and inperson
Microsoft Office Suite
5+ years of learning & development experience (preference given to experience in the Oil and Gas Industry)
Experience working with Learning Management Systems
Development and facilitation of Leadership programs
Familiarity with and understanding of Camtasia, Articulate 360 and Employment Standards and Human Rights Legislation
