Methodologist Ii - Ottawa, Canada - OHRI
Description
We are looking for highly motivated Methodologist II to help with public health and health services research led by Dr.
Peter Tanuseputro.The ideal can will join an extremely productive and diverse team of about 10 post-doctoral fellows and 10 research assistants and coordinators.
1) The methodologist will support use of data contained in the Ontario Health Data Platform (OHDP) to provide 'audit and feedback' of performance of LTC homes throughout the course of each resident' stay (e.g., transfers to acute care, end-of-life prescribing and quality of life indicators).
2) The methodologist will support use of data at the OHDP to create a prognostic tool of health outcomes such as survival, cognitive/functional decline, and transfers to acute care. They will use traditional statistical methods but also include the use of AI/machine learning methods when appropriate.
Basic Requirements (Education/Experience):
- MSc in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Sciences or related field
- 12 years of related experience
- Experience programming in R, SAS, SQL or similar programming language
- Experience working with healthcare or other large data
- Strong problemsolving and critical thinking skills
- Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Aptitude for research methodology and attention to detail
- Demonstrated initiative in the workplace
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with big data or in data science
- A working understanding of research using routinely collected data (e.g., ICES, CIHI, or Statistics Canada) would be great, but not necessary
- Previous healthcare analytical experience
- Knowledge of analytic methods applied to health services research
Contract Details:
This is a 1-year full-time contract with the possibility of renewal
Salary:
Min:$32.004/hr - Max:$46.147/hr
