GREENHOUSE CULTIVATION MANAGER
Overall responsibility to manage the day-to-day greenhouse cultivation for a Canadian-owned company with global reach. Actively engaged with employees, contractors, and management to ensure operational excellence in product and safety. The 350,000 sq ft greenhouse is located in the Niagara Peninsula.


Maintain professional networks and keep abreast of developments in agricultural science and cultivation techniques, detail-oriented and also able to appreciate the bigger picture.


Responsibilities

  • Overall operating performance of the greenhouse
  • Plan the greenhouse operation activities for the year, including:
  • Experience with controlling greenhouse environment
  • Oversee and coordinate pest and disease control measures
  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance of equipment with Maintenance Supervisor
  • Evaluate employee performance
  • Evaluate suppliers
  • Good communication skills both verbally and written
  • Proficient with computers and software word, excel, machine interface
  • Develop annual budget
  • Enforce health and safety policies
  • Implementation of standard operating procedures, guidelines and internal control standards
  • Assist in recruitment of new employees and service providers
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and provide guidance to team members

Qualifications
years of relevant agriculture experience

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
$80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
