The Position:


General Overview:

The Edmonton Sport & Social Club (ESSC) is a leading provider of adult recreational sports throughout the city, with one of our most popular programs being our Outdoor Beach Volleyball leagues.

We rely on our BVBCs to be the faces of our Beach leagues, while playing an integral role in providing a superb playing experience to adult Edmontonians Daily responsibilities for this position include:
General facility upkeep and oversight, maintenance of the Volleyball courts, interaction with ESSC Players and score reporting.

This is an ideal position for an individual who has volleyball experience and is seeking active, outdoor employment.

If you enjoy meeting new people, working hard and being in the fresh air, this is the position for you All BVBC shifts are in the evenings, which leaves availability for you to fill your morning and afternoon with classes or other activities.

April 2024


End Date:
September 2024


Hours:


Spring (April - June):Sunday-Thursday, 15-30 hrs/week


Summer (July - August):Sunday-Thursday, 20-35 hrs/week


Fall (September):Monday - Thursday, 10-20 hrs/week

Start times will be 4:00pm or later; shifts will range between 3-7 hrs/day


Key Responsibilities:


  • Preseason facility setup
  • Daily and seasonal upkeep of facility (including courts, nets, patios, and surrounding areas)
  • Regular manual labor tasks including sand maintenance (i.e raking)
  • Greet and direct players, read player announcements
  • Monitor games, solve problems/rule uncertainty and enforce Club policies
  • Create and submit scoresheets
  • Report scores online
  • Create a warm and energetic facility atmosphere
  • Assist with Beach Volleyball dropins
  • Assist with postseason facility takedown

  • Comfortable using tools and performing manual labour
  • Able to work independently
  • Volleyball knowledge is an asset
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Compensation Package:


Rate of Pay:
$19.00/hour (includes base pay of $18.00/hour and season-end bonus)
