RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre.

Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University.

The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).


Position summary

General Duties

  • Coordinate communication between team members,
  • Organize conference calls, meetings, keep track of tasks and deadlines,
  • Manage logistics for local meetings and webinars,
  • Accounting: drafting budgets, overseeing research and clinical research account, processing payments, following up on outstanding payments,
  • Ethics: Submit and follow up on renewal and amendment requests at the REB and submit new studies for ethics approval, and perform study terminations for single
- and multicenter studies,

  • Identifies funding opportunities, and coordinates and participates in grant writing,
  • Acts as resource person, resolves problems and instructs others,
  • Maintains strong working relationships with collaborators,
  • Maintain and audit experimental and analytical data. Prepares reports. Analyzes, interprets, and present results with team members. Maintains records and files,
  • Ensures appropriate inventory. Recommends and purchases equipment and material,
  • Monitor accounts and keeps budget updated,

Education / Experience

  • MSc. in a field related to experimental medicine, epidemiology with a focus on cardiovascular health, metabolic health, preeclampsia, or proven equivalent experience. PhD in these areas of research is an asset.
  • Proven experience in supervision,
  • Experience in clinical research monitoring or coordination an asset,
  • Experience with centrifuging and handling of biological specimens an asset,
  • English and French, spoken and written,
  • Selfdirected, organized, proactive, team player,
  • Strong project management skills,
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, set priorities, timemanage and resolve problems,
  • Ability to work in a team and comfortable working autonomously,

Additional information

Status:
Temporary, part-time


Pay Scale:
Commensurate with education and experience

Work Shift:
from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mondays to Thursdays

Work Site: 5252 Boul de maisonneuve W
