Description

The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) was established as part of the Government of Canada's response to the events of September 11, 2001 and is accountable to Parliament through the Minister of Transport.

Governed by a Board of Directors, CATSA is a Crown Corporation responsible for securing specific elements of the air transportation system.

CATSA is mandated to protect the public through effective and efficient screening of air travelers and their baggage.

CATSA delivers the mandate of security screening at 89 designated airports across the country through a third-party screening contractor model.

Playing a key role in Canada's air transportation system, CATSA is responsible for the delivery of pre-board screening, hold baggage screening, non-passenger screening and restricted area identity card.

Backed by a highly engaged and diverse team, CATSA utilizes innovative technology and an agile approach to maintain the highest level of security and strives to provide the best possible passenger experience.

Summary of the Role:

Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice-President and Chief Technology Officer (VP & CTO) is a critical member of the senior management team who is responsible for all matters relating to the management, evaluation and deployment of airport security screening equipment and information technology in airports, and within the organization itself.

As the VP and CTO, you will have full oversight of the Technology branch from a strategic, operational, and corporate perspective, ensuring that all our functions are well supported and operating effectively.

You will provide strategic vision and leadership in establishing priorities and managing risk in a dynamic environment, and you will ensure CATSA's technology roadmap and capabilities are aligned to execute on the organizational mission.

You are responsible for guiding and leading the work as part of an integrated, and organization-wide approach to deliver an exemplary air transport security system that Canadians trust.

This includes a strong and clear commitment to security and service, which is at the heart of our work.

You are a strong people-leader and team player, with a proven track record of success, and someone who can identify, develop, prioritize and implement organizational priorities and strategies.

The VP and CTO will lead strategic initiatives that deliver results, continually improving CATSA's operations, while ensuring the core mandate and responsibilities are delivered effectively and efficiently.

The VP and CTO must communicate vision and priorities with clarity and conviction, as you are key to the successful development and implementation of the strategic plan.
