- Prepare complex tissues (rodent and human) and subject them to a spatial transcriptomic workflow
- Work flow includes, but not limited to: sample staining, imaging, preparing spatial transcriptomic libraries for sequencing
- Other duties as assigned by Principal Investigator and/or Sequencing Specialist
- BSc or MSc in genomics, molecular biology, or equivalent discipline (or related College diploma)
- At least three years of work experience within a laboratory setting
- Must have experience in single cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, PCR reaction set up and purification
- Experience with histological staining and tissue sectioning is an asset
- Must have excellent pipetting skills
- Additional next-generation/deep sequencing techniques is a strong asset
- A willingness to learn new techniques and technologies
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently, as well as with a team, and accurately under deadlines

Position Summary
The Krembil Research Institute is seeking a temporary full-time (1 year contract) Research Technician II with single cell sequencing and spatial transcriptomics experience to join our innovative team. Working under the direction of the Principal Investigator and Sequencing Specialist, the successful applicant will prepare sections from complex tissues (rodent and human) and subject them to a spatial transcriptomic workflow, including sample staining, imaging, and preparing spatial transcriptomic libraries for sequencing. As an integral and productive member at the Institute, the research technician must be highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, dedicated and result-driven, easily following standardized SOPs, and meeting target deadlines.
