The Position:


Start Date:
March 2024


Hours:4-8 hours per week for March-April, which will be training-focused, and 5-15 hours per week starting in May.


Go Play Job Posting:

Coaches must be available during the evenings (4:30/5:00 pm - 8:00 pm) a week and/or during the weekends (8:45am-2:00pm)


General Overview:

GoPlay is powered by the awesome team at the ESSC. The ESSC is an adult co-ed recreational sports league provider that operates year-round.

After bringing recreational sport and social offerings to adults in our city for 20 years, we have decided to also bring recreational sport and social opportunities to the youth of our city GoPlay is a low commitment, recreational, fun place for kids to learn a variety of sports and life skills, be active and meet friends right in their own community.


GoPlay brings social and physical development together, as our instructors lead youth as young as 18 months through Sport Programming.

Our games and activities are not only designed to work on children's physical literacy, but also key attributes such as sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork and more


Key Responsibilities:


  • Learn the operations of the GoPlay Program from the Manager of Youth Operations (MYO), Program Coordinators and Head Coaches while mastering the GoPlay Coaches training material.
  • Lead GoPlay participants through sessions with use of lesson plans and provided equipment.
  • Foster the safety and enjoyment of all GoPlay attendees.
  • Assist in delivering, adapting and implementing new games and activities.
  • Role model the ESSC values (pride, ownership and care) in and out of the office.
  • Basic maintenance and monitoring of equipment used for classes.

  • Coaching experience would be an asset
  • Experience in sports and/or working with youth/childcare considered an asset

All coaches will be required to provide:

  • Valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
  • Valid & completed First Aid & CPR Certification (or willingness to get)

Compensation:


Rate of Pay:

- $19/Hour
