We are currently looking for an
Assistant Manager, Rooms Division to join our team


Responsibilities:


  • In conjunction with Rooms Manager coordinates and facilitates day to day operations within the Rooms departments
  • Opens and closes Front Desk /Housekeeping shifts while ensuring completion of assigned shift checklist and other duties
  • Maintains high standards of teamwork within the Rooms departments
  • Participates and leads Rooms department related initiatives that enhance guest and associate satisfaction
  • Supervises all areas of the Rooms departments in the absence of the Rooms Manager
  • Communicates actively to ensure all individuals are informed of challenges and potential solutions related to the daily operations of Rooms departments
  • In conjunction with Rooms Manager coordinates all aspects of "Out of Order" rooms to ensure appropriate actions are in place to return rooms back into inventory in order to maximize all room revenue and minimizing rebates
  • Assists in recruiting and training of all new associates for the Guest Services and Housekeeping department
  • Tracks and responds to all lost and found inquiries and responds to guests within 24 Hours
  • Coordinates and prepares schedules in accordance to business volumes and budget guidelines
  • Manages the ordering of supplies in accordance to budget guidelines and business volumes to ensure associates have the tools required to anticipate and deliver on guest needs
  • Manages inventory with quarterly linen inventory as well as tracking discards and product that has past it's life cycle
  • Provides effective key control and participates in matters relating to guest room security
  • Additional duties as assigned based on business volumes and guest requirements
  • Adheres to hotel policies and procedures
  • Consistently practices guest and associate privacy and security

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:


  • Communication skills both verbally and written in English
  • Technical skills of the Guest Services, Housekeeping and Laundry operations
  • Strong leadership skills; seasoned coach and mentor
  • Customer service oriented with a commitment and dedication to the guest experience
  • Ability to set priorities, plan, organize, delegate and control
  • Outstanding interpersonal, problemresolution, and analytical skills
  • Energetic, reliable, flexible and hands on individual who works well under pressure, in a team environment
  • Understands the nature of the hotel/restaurant industry.
  • Ability to perform the physical aspects of the job including sitting, bending, climbing, standing, reaching and walking for up to 90% of the workday and lifting and carrying up to 50lbs.
  • Must be approachable, considerate and professional at all times
  • Sets a positive example for genuine hospitality
  • Strong computer software knowledge including: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Knowledge of hospitality property management systems an asset

Working Conditions:


  • Fast paced environment that is often demanding
  • Use of cleaning chemicals
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are a requirement of this position
  • Flexibility of hours is required to accommodate operational needs
  • Normal working environment within a Hotel

Experience, Training and Education (demonstrating requirements):

  • Diploma in hospitality or business
  • 12 years of Hotel Supervisory experience preferred; previous experience in Guest Services and Housekeeping an asset
  • Health & Safety related training such WHMIS, Hazard Identification, Inspections training is an asset but can be provided by the hotel
