Position Scope:


Reporting to the Brake North American (BNA) Remanufacturing Supervisor, you will ensure the proper deployment of job resources, operating part washer, and helping Bench Hands as directed.

The Laborer is instrumental in enabling the department to achieve all established safety, quality, and productivity goals.

Schedule is 7x7 ( to start and up to 60 days, the shift will be 5x2 for training & orientation)


Responsibilities:


  • Cleaning parts as required.
  • Operating cranes to move parts and components around shop.
  • Operating fork trucks for moving parts and other items.
  • Keeping the shop and yard clean.
  • Snow removal around shop and front parking lot (seasonal).
  • Interacting with shop employees and becoming a part of a remanufacturing team.
  • Complete shop equipment inspections prior to use.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on support equipment as directed by supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance to all company, client and legislated safety policies and procedures.
  • Using adequate and suitable safety equipment, including PPE.
  • Reviewing safe work plans/ hazard assessment with prior to job commencement.

Qualifications:

  • Warehouse materials handling experience in a distribution setting or similar environment considered an asset.
  • 6 months experience with various forklift(s) battery standup, propane or fuel type.
  • 6 months experience working in a safety sensitive work place.
  • Industrial construction and/or mining experience preferred.
  • High school diploma
  • Forklift operating certificate
  • Overhead crane operating certificate
  • Able to operate forklift, skid steers, small loaders
  • Must have valid class 5 driver's license
  • Always demonstrate safety
  • Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  • Undergo and successfully pass the following testing:
  • Breath Alcohol Test
  • Urine Drug Test
  • FitnesstoWork Assessment
  • Audiometric Testing
  • Vision Screening
  • Criminal Record Check
  • Basic computer literacy/skills.
  • Experience around heavy equipment is an asset

Summary:

  • Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  • Have a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
  • Have experience as requested as mentioned above
  • Subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
  • Undergo and successfully pass the following testing:
  • Breath Alcohol Test
  • Urine Drug Test
  • FitnesstoWork Assessment
  • Audiometric Testing
  • Vision Screening
  • Criminal Record Check
  • CSO or BSO Certification
  • Copy of Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • Copy of recent Driver's Abstract
  • VOID cheque/direct deposit form

Once dispatched the following processes will occur:

  • Will receive a call from NACG to set up all required pre-employment testing
