IT Support Partner - Learning & Technology Services (LTS), to start in July, 31


As a member of the Learning & Technology Services Department (LTS), the Support Partner assists the School's staff and students with technology needs as they arise, and develops solutions that support the department's and School's strategic priorities.

With a strong customer service orientation and excellent relationship management skills, the Support Partner actively contributes to a positive, proactive, inclusive, and welcoming LTS and school environment.


Duties and Responsibilities

Including but not limited to the following:

  • Just-in-time technical support
  • answering questions and problem-solving for students, staff and Mulgrave Community members.
  • Perform system updates and configuration around the school
  • Classroom technology support for student 1:1 iPads & BYOD devices, staff devices and classroom AV (wireless sharing, LCD screens, projectors, SmartBoards, printers, cabling etc.)
  • System administration duties including add, edit and delete Mulgrave accounts as needed
  • Keep current and update inventory; deliver, tag, setup, and assist in the configuration of enduser hardware, software and peripherals
  • Hardware diagnosis, repair, network resolution and software installation
  • Supports teachers and students in the effective use of educational technology such as SEQTA, SEESAW, and others
  • Support for STEM and Student Technology clubs/events (Hour of Code, Robotics etc.)
  • Coordinate repairs with third party contractors
  • Organise and maintain LTS Department workspace
  • Develop and maintain code for automation as needed
  • Engage in strategic projects as directed by supervisor
  • Clearly communicate technical solutions in a professional manner and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Manage time to respond to helpdesk ticket and other requests in a timely fashion
  • Attend and contribute to LTS meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 1 year of previous work experience in a similar role
  • University degree in computer science, engineering, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable
  • Demonstrated ability to transport, assemble, maintain and repair equipment used in a technologyenhanced learning and work environment
  • Technology troubleshooting skills, as well as the ability to research knowledge bases and actively seek out solutions to technology issues
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Calendars etc.)
  • Knowledge of multiple devices and operating systems (Windows, Apple, IOS, Android and ChromeBooks)
  • Availability to work flexible hours and/or a floating shift
  • Experience with programming languages is an asset (i.e. Python, Java, etc.)
  • Experience with network administration in a Windows / Apple environment is an asset
  • Experience in a similar position at another school is an asset
  • Must be qualified to work in Canada
