Position Purpose and Summary


The vision of Trinity Western University is to equip every graduate to think truthfully, act justly, and live faithfully for the good of the World and the glory of God.

The Richmond Student Life Coordinator works closely with the Associate Director of Student Life Richmond and student leaders to provide engagement through demographically effective initiatives, relevant learning and strategic ministry experiences at TWU's Richmond sites.

The Student Life Coordinator works strategically to build community, foster spiritual growth and support holistic wellbeing for all Richmond students and student leaders.


Key Areas of Accountability

  • Organizes and executes successful and purposefilled student events; finding appropriate methods and activities to attract and meet the spiritual and relational needs of international students.
  • Provides additional support in increasing overall student connection and engagement by modelling personal care and friendship where opportunities present themselves.
  • Provides individual student leader mentoring and coaching, as well as reporting and statistical tracking for student club and campuswide events and activities yearround.
  • Coordinates and hosts semesterly new student Orientations for IDC (with support for MAL/MBA), including multiple class visits during termstarts.
  • Oversees TWU Richmond social media channels, and gives guidance to other Student Life staff to provide administrative and logístical support for campus events, including weekly TV signage and promotional material production.
  • Acts as pointperson for individual student care, support and followup, including those with extra needs (Wellness Centre, Housing, employment, spiritual, emergency situations, culturallyspecific situations and others).
  • Hosts Richmond guests and supports campus events as needed. Oversees petty cash and student club reimbursements.
  • Supports Richmond crisis management, with willingness to be accessible outside of office hours to respond to security concerns or onsite emergencies.
  • Serves as a team player within TWU Richmond and Student Life assisting to accomplish the mission of the Student Life Department and affirming values of TWU Richmond by being hungry (to learn), hospitable and hopeful.

Standards & Requirements

Education:


  • BA degree in related field or equivalent experience.

Experience:


  • At least one year of leadership in a Christian ministry or significant involvement in student ministry required. Previous ministry to university students in the area of discipleship/outreach ministries preferred.
