ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

This role reports to Faculty Lead and Student Mentor – Melville School of Business Innovation Hub.

SUMMARY

We are seeking two enthusiastic students to work 15 hours per week each to build on the creation of an Innovation Hub and Student Hub Pitch event taking place in May 2025. Both positions will play a pivotal role in organizing, promoting, and executing communication materials, building on what has been completed during the Spring 2024 of the hub creation. These positions will later support the upcoming Pitch Competition and future Melville Venture Capital opportunities with Incubation/accelerator opportunities for soon to graduate student start-ups.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborating with the faculty lead and project manager to plan and communicate internal innovation hub, e.g., generating communication materials, and follow through with first phase consultation plan.
Conduct Student Ambassador messaging and possible classroom visits presenting the concept across different program and academic units to encourage faculty and student engagement.
Assist in preparing and scheduling in-person and virtual information sessions.
Work with the Communications and Events Coordinator with marketing materials and promotion through social media platforms.
Collaborate with the faculty lead, project manager and other team members for the Spring – May 1, 2025, Pitch Competition and support where necessary for the second annual Student Showcase, April 30, 2025.

QUALIFICATION

Current KPU student in good academic standing, with a minimum 3.0 GPA
Outgoing and enthusiastic
Computer literate and experienced with Microsoft Office software
Reliable, responsible, professional, customer service oriented
Able to work as part of a team and independently
Able to effectively multi-task
Experienced public speaker
Effective multi-tasker
Social Media savvy
Sensitive to diverse student needs
Available for shifts at any campus or community event, as needed
Available to work evenings and weekends as needed

Salary Information

Student Assistants are paid as per the following:

Less than one year of post-secondary (less than 30 credits) – BC Minimum Wage
One year of post-secondary credits) – BC Minimum Wage plus 8%
With a post-secondary diploma or degree – BC Minimum Wage plus 21%
