Alvaro Cepeda

Hello! I am Alvaro Sebastian Cepeda, a dedicated professional with over a decade of experience driving impactful research and innovation aimed at enhancing well-being in both rural and urban communities, with a special focus on minority groups. My commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion is unwavering, and I thrive on developing projects that make a difference.

With extensive hands-on fieldwork and data analysis experience, I am passionate about succeeding in any task I undertake. My roles as a project manager, lecturer, and researcher have equipped me with a robust skill set that includes tutoring, mentoring through complex research and dissertation projects.

I hold a Master of Science in Epidemiology from the Autonomous University of Madrid and a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador. Currently, I am pursuing a Post-graduate Diploma in Business and Project Management at Vancouver Community College. 

With over a decade of experience in academia, research, and project management, I specialize in public health, biostatistics, and epidemiology. I have developed and supervised community projects and rural education programs, co-authored nutritional counseling guides, and participated in research on chronic disease management. As a Technical Coordinator at the Ministry of Health of Ecuador, I coordinated national health and nutrition surveys and oversaw national supplementation strategies. My career has been dedicated to enhancing well-being through innovative and impactful research.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador (PUCE). Following my passion for public health, I pursued a Master of Science in Epidemiology from the Autonomous University of Madrid. Currently, I am expanding my skill set by pursuing a Post-graduate Diploma in Business and Project Management at Vancouver Community College. These educational experiences have equipped me with a diverse skill set, including nutritional assessment, dietetics, research methodology, statistical analysis, and project management. I am excited to leverage these skills in my future career endeavors, where I can contribute to the fields of healthcare, public health, and project management.
