Technically oriented, innovative, and self-driven retired telecommunications professional with over 20 years of experience leading a team of heavy line technicians to streamline plant maintenance and operations. Currently seeking a position in the automotive industry building on my ability to learn and innovate, along with my passion for car culture and automotive mechanics. Self-taught auto mechanic, adept at servicing the rear differential, transmission, radiator, and fuel system cleanings; diagnosing check engine lights; and recommending preventive maintenance services. Adjusted, tested, and repaired motor vehicle engines, steering systems, braking systems, drive trains, vehicle suspensions, electrical systems, wheel re-alignment and air-conditioning systems, mechanical systems, and cooling systems—20 years of experience buying and selling cars and auto parts for classic and modern cars. I am currently undertaking a certification in hybrid vehicle servicing.

2018 – 2022                                      HEAVY LINES CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR

TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICES OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

  • Supervise a crew of 5 to 10 heavy line technicians to maintain physical copper and fibre plants for the Southwest region.
  • Responsible for surveying the condition of company telephone pole infrastructure and dispatching crews for regular maintenance, emergencies, and relocation of poles and cables
  • Oversee fleet management for six (6) vehicles; materials monitoring and restocking; work and safety equipment procurement and management. 
  • Utilized MS Excel to generate monthly service area reports.
  • Acted as Manager, Heavy Lines Construction and Cable 01 to 31 December 2022 and successfully carried out all human resources, budget, and work implementation responsibilities associated with this role. 
  • These include the use of MS Excel for employee attendance and assessment reporting, daily monitoring of the budget to track and monitor overtime and contractor costs; 
  • Instruct supervisors to dispatch Heavy Lines crews; respond to requests from Executive management; dispatch and monitor crews to respond to emergencies, including copper cable theft and liaising with local law enforcement.

 

2016 - 2018                                       FACILITIES SUPERVISOR

  • Supervise the deployment of new plants in the Northeast region, providing monthly status reports and inputs for reports to senior management and the Chief Executive Officer. 
  • I supervised three (3) technical staff.

2006 – 2016                                       FACILITIES TECHNICIAN

TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICES OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

  • Facilitated records management for the Northwest region, including verification of customer telephone connections and support of transferring telephone services from the copper network to the Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON).
  • Expert-level use of MS Excel to generate widely used monthly reports on the status of copper plants in the Northwest region; to facilitate line transfer from the copper to GPON Calix plants; to facilitate repairs to damaged plants.
  • We developed a new report-generating process using the Company Customer Information System and MS Excel to generate a comprehensive Excel report on damaged plants. 
  • Achieved a reduction in time to generate reports; reduced to 5 to 10mins, making information more quickly available to colleagues, senior and executive management for work dispatch, meetings, and presentations. 
  • We served as the Focal Point for the Northwest region for the Sony Ericsson-led project to facilitate the successful implementation of the new telephone records system Ericsson Order-Care. 
  • Successfully supervised 12 graduate and summer trainees in field testing of telephone cabinets and reconciliation of cabinet data for use by other departments.
