About Daniel Ramkarran:

Hello There! My name is Daniel ramkarran. I am a 3D Junior Animator who is passionate about the Games/Film industry. I'm proficient in programs such as Maya, Photoshop, Illustrator, and MotionBuilder as well as Unreal Engine 4 and 5. I also do Concept art on the side as a hobby. My dream is to work in the Industry as a Senior/Lead Animator or Cinematic Animator. I just graduated college recently. (George Brown College) Im someone who is both hard-working as detailed oriented.  As long as I get to tell a story through Animation that's both and beautiful and entertaining, I'll be very happy!

Experience

During school, I interned for 9 months working on Animation/Rigging but mainly Animation. For Animation, I created Animations in multiple Views (Front/Side/Perspective) and Creating Idle/Action (FlyingForward) Animations. I worked closely with the team and Game Director on exporting Animations as well as discussing Ideas on what needs improving and what needs more detail. And for Rigging I created a basic Rig for a Bat with multiple controls to Mimick how a Bat flies: FK controls. I worked closely with Game Director on any changes that needed to be made (Either taking away or adding curb Controls) Built the Rig from scratch using a model created by the team, and edited it until weight painting was flexible and no deformation was caused. Im am skilled in multiple programs such as Maya, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Unreal Engine 4 and 5 but the main program I used for the internship was Maya. 

Education

The program I took was called “Game - Art”. It essentially split into 2 different sectors, you can either choose Modelling or Animation and I went with Animation. It taught basic principles of Animation as well as fundamentals of gravity and tons of analyzing techniques that I still use in my animation pieces for my Demo Reel. Such as using Syncsketch and finding multiple really good references just to study and sort of take to see how a jump is actually performed or how the toes push off from a basic walk cycle. We've learned the basic of the bouncing ball as well as an introduction to Charcter Body mechanics and Charcter Acting. We also studied the basic principles of Animation and try to implement each of them into our pieces.
