    Description

    Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and deliver high-quality instruction in Exploring Technology to Grade 9 students.
  • Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that align with the curriculum and meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and respectful learning atmosphere.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of communication technology concepts and applications.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements to integrate real-world examples into the curriculum.
  • Design and administer assessments to measure student understanding and progress.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-disciplinary connections and contribute to the overall educational and co curricular experience.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices and innovative teaching methods.
  • Integrate sustainability concepts into the curriculum where applicable.
  • Encourage and promote environmentally conscious practices within the classroom and the College community.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-disciplinary connections and contribute to the overall educational experience.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices and innovative teaching methods.
  • Contribute to the College community through involvement in arts or athletics co-curricular activities and/or support and mentor students in extracurricular projects related to communication technology.

    • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education with a focus on Communication Technology or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Communication Technology at the high school level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Extensive experience using Adobe Creative Suite - including Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere.
  • Proficiency in Trimble SketchUp.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Google Workspace.
