About Eddie Crowther:

I'm a creative individual who thrives on the challenge of achieving the best possible outcomes. My true passion lies in effective communication, where I excel at conveying ideas quickly and persuasively.

In my role as a motion and digital designer, I've been deeply involved in every aspect of the creative journey. From the initial spark of an idea to crafting storyboards and designs, all the way through creative development and final delivery, I've been there every step of the way. I utilize storyboards and animatics to shape narratives, offering clients a clearer vision of the creative output. I eagerly embrace client feedback, ensuring their needs are met and that the creative direction remains on track.

Experience

My role as a motion designer encompassed everything from a motion stand point. Animation, rigging, VFX, 3D modelling, colour grading, SFX and video editing. In pre-production I was responsible for storyboarding and creating animatics to help convey ideas. In post-production I would collate selects from the raw footage, creating proxies to be more user friendly. I then pieced together an edit, using toolkits and style guides to keep the edit on brand, utilising my motion knowledge to integrate animation elements, SFX, 3D elements, various VFX and finally grading. I worked with international sports brands, Adidas and Reebok, where I developed, designed and created numerous edits for a variety of campaigns and outputs. I created motion graphics and edits for all shapes and sizes, everything from stadium ad boards, to mobile banners and countless social media outputs. I worked with smaller brands, like SofaWorkshop and LifeBeforePlastic, to create short-form interview films. Here I was responsible for seamless editing, grading and sound mixing. Working in an advertising agency I relished the fast-pace and quick turn around of projects. I learnt to be decisive in my decision making and efficient in my creative actions. I enjoyed the camaraderie and collaborative aspects of agency life.

Education

I graduated in July 2014 with a 1st class degree and the Margaret Johnson Memorial Prize for outstanding performance. This BA honors course was unique in its 360° approach to advertising. It provided an insight into the industry from research to the creative. Seeing a project through from start to finish, I would interview a clients, get to know the target audience and produce my best creative outcome on the most relevant platform possible. The course provided great opportunities to work on live and one day briefs for both agencies and clients. I gained a taste of real life experience working on live briefs in New York (Profero and Bandujo) and London (23 Red and Collective). I worked on a range of projects from package design, web design, above and below the line advertising, including augmented reality and ambient media. I was given the unique opportunity to travel to Ljubljana, on the Erasmus Program, along with 30 other creatives from four different countries. It was an intensive week of research, international collaboration and creative thinking. This course truly gave me a unique perspective into the industry. It provided me with a platform from which I honed and develop my skills into the multifaceted creative I am today.
