What you will notice with my resume is that I have been out of the job field for some time due to some mental
health issues. I have struggled with substance use for several years. I have left jobs to attend short-term
treatment programs and re-integrated into the workforce too quickly. This has caused mental health issues to
re-surface and thus, the decision to take time off work to care for myself. But I do believe my most recent
completion of a treatment program has set me up to be successful in any job I set my mind on. Over the past
two years I have volunteered at Volken's Market and Furniture. I have excelled in several departments,
including the deli, produce, bakery, grocery, general merchandise, warehouse, dairy and frozen. The most
valuable experience has been in dairy and frozen because I learned how to manage both departments. Taking on
this role has re-ignited a passion in me to hold a vital function within a business, and reminds me how grateful I
am to have completed post-secondary education.
