About JF Harvey:

As a bilingual HR executive with over 30 years of experience, I act as a liaison between functional leaders and executive leadership teams to foster a solid alignment between people strategies and the execution of corporate goals.  I have a proven track record of driving change strategies, embedding new HR service delivery models, and designing innovative organizational structures during periods of merger, acquisition, and significant transitions in Canada, United States, and Mexico.

 

In my previous VPHR roles and assignments, I coached teams of up to 30 professionals providing effective solutions including the full suite of HR functions (ER, LR, OD, OH&S, talent acquisition, compensation, performance management, workforce planning / succession planning, wellness, risk management, internal communication, corporate security, HR metrics) in complex multi-location, and unionized environments.  My responsibilities included the following key responsibilities:

 

  • Collaborating with the executive leadership teams to translate business strategy and priorities into HR strategy and tactics, serving as a trusted business partner. 
  • Leading several key development initiatives, including revamping the performance and compensation processes; technical operations (e.g., HR systems); talent acquisition and retention strategies; and supporting a robust partnership model with the executive leadership team.
  • Building a robust HR function, helping mature key policies, processes and procedures that optimize cultural transformation, diversity and inclusion initiatives, organizational development, talent, performance, compensation/benefits, labour, and communications in support of organizational growth strategies.
  • Leading HR strategic planning to establish performance goals, metrics, and standards; continuously improve performance management, succession planning, and learning and development processes acclimatization.
  • Influencing key management stakeholders, including the executive leadership team, through communication and development of HR processes and metrics to support the development of a high-performance culture. Partner across the broader enterprise and with HR colleagues to influence and implement programs, policies and practices. 
  • Foster and drive a culture of high performance, ensuring members of various departments receive direction, career development support, and performance management objectives based on clearly identified responsibilities and performance objectives.

Throughout my career, I drove significant transformation initiatives (pre & post M&A integration activities) in different industries at the North American level, in both private and public sectors.  My abilities to develop strong relationships at all levels of any organization position me as a trusted advisor to senior management teams, and CEOs.
