Jackson Lyall, who had spent the last eight years in the military, returns from two hitches with the Marines, mostly spent as a sniper in Africa and Afghanistan. With a new identity and enough money to get him through a couple of years, he decides to settle in Richmond, Virginia and pursue his passion for photography. But his past quickly catches up with him, along with his disillusionment about what’s going on in America and he is recruited into a clandestine project group called The Sword of Damocles, where his sniper skills will be put to good use.

The Sword of Damocles is a story about what would happen if the Democrats decided to fight back against the ever-growing scourge of right-wing extremism in America. and how that would manifest.

Pic de Jour: Way back in the day when I actually had a real job.

Noticed this on my ride a couple days ago. This tree wrapped itself around a supporting cable for a phone pole. That's not something you see every day.

This is a collection of half a dozen original stories that are all set primarily on the east coast of the US.  I have formatted them in a ‘paperback’ sized PDF file, to make them easy to read on any device you have.

The stories are all free.  I have no interest in playing the publishing game. Life’s too short.

I am a professional writer and have been since I was in my early twenties and working in advertising I’m now retired and am just doing this as a hobby.

Heather (my wife) wanted to go to Beamsville to buy some material for her project de jour. I went along for the ride, because the drive back home on Highway 81 is wonderful. Anyway, I went for a walk down the main drag and saw this fairly massive mural painted in between two buildings. The buildings were really close together so I couldn't shoot the whole mural. But I did get a little piece of it.
